Quickest Puff Pastry Dough Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 250g unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup cold water

Method:

1.Divide the butter into three equal portions. Use two of the portions by placing it in a plastic bag and spread it out evenly by using a rolling pin. Put it in the fridge and leave it for 30mins to 1 hour.

2.Take the remaining piece of the butter and grate it into the 3 cups of all purpose flour in a mixing bowl incorporate the butter well into the flour.

3.Add the lemon juice and salt and mix well. Gradually start adding the cold water into the mixture and make a dough.

Note: the dough should not be as soft as the dough for chapati /donuts, just form a well combined dough.

Place the dough into a plastic bag and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes

4.After 30 minutes place your dough in a cold work surface, roll the dough in a rectangular shape and place the cold butter in the middle and fold the dough to cover the butter completely.

5.Roll out the dough into a rectangular shape and keep dusting you dough and work surface with flour to ensure the dough won’t stick to the surface.

6.Fold the dough the second time, taking the two ends towards the centre. Then roll the dough out.

7.Fold the dough the third time and roll the dough out.

8.Fold the dough the fourth and last time and roll it out again.

9.The puff pastry dough is ready you can use it immediately by placing a filling in the centre, fold the ends and apply egg white on the top. Bake it at 180c for 20-25 minutes until golden colour.

10.Ready to serve.

Mahitaji:

  • Vikombe 3 vya unga
  • Chumvi
  • Maji ya Limao kjk kikubwa kimoja
  • 250g ya siagi isiyo na chumvi
  • ¾ cup ya maji ya baridi

Matayarisho:

1.Chukua siagi yako ya na ugawe mara tatu . Chukua vipande viwili na uweke kwenye mfuko wa plastic mgumu. Sukua siagi yako na uisukume iwe shepu ya square ikiwa nandi ya mfuko. Iweke kwenye friji kwa dakika 30 mpaka lisaa limoja

2.Chukua siagi iliobaki na iparue kwenye unga kutumia grater kisha changanya vizuri.

3.Weka maji ya limao pamoja na chumvi na uchanganye vizuri.Weka maji ya baridi sana kidogo kidogo ya utengeneze donge.

Angalizo:Donge lako lisiwe laini sana kama wa unga wa chapatti/mandazi

Weka donge lako kwenye mfuko wa plastic na uweke kwenye friji kaw dakika 30.

4.Baada ya dakika 30 weka donge lako juu ya sehemu ya baridi,Sukuma donge lako kwa shepu ya mstatili, kisha weka siagi yako ya baridi katikati kisha funika siagi kwa kutumia donge lako ulioisukuma.

5.Sukuma donge lako kwa shepu ya mstatili huku ukiweka unga kuepuka donge kushikana na pini .

6.Kunja donge lako kwa mara ya pili,kisha isukume tena.

7.Kunja mara ya tatu kisha isukume tena

8.Kunja kwa mara ya nne nay a mwisho

9.Puff pastry dough yako inakua ipo tayari kwa kuhifadhiwa kwenye friji aun kutumia hapo hapo.Unaweza kukata mara nne na ukaweka nyama ndani na kufunga na kupaka yai kwa juu na kuchoma kwa oven kwa moto wa 180 kwa dakika 20-25 mpaka iwe na rangi ya dhahabu.
