Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp butter/margarine
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp milk powder
  • 1 cup whole milk . .
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom (powdered or crashed)

 

Method.

1.In a mixing bowl add 2 cups of all purpose flour,1tsp sugar,salt to taste,1tsp butter/magarine.1/2 tsp baking powder,2 tbsp of milk powder.(The milk powder is optional)

2.Add the milk and make a dough. Knead for 2-3 minutes only(The dough should be soft but not as soft as a chapatti dough).

3.Divide the dough into 2 or 3 pieces and roll out you dough. Cut the rolled out dough into medium size dough and place them in a dish ready to fry.

4.Fry in a medium heat(deep fry).Constantly turn the visheti so as to get an even colour all sides.When ready place the visheti on a clean cloth or tissue for the oil to drain.

To make the sugar syrup:

1.In a pan cook 1cup of water,1 cup of sugar,1tsp of cardamom powder.You can add the cardamom powder during this step or during the dough making.You can also use vanilla essence instead.

2.Cook the syrup until you get a sticky consistency,you can put the visheti into syrup or pour the syrup into the bowl instead.

3.Remove from the heat heat,stir slowly until the syrup is well incorporated to the visheti.

  • Maziwa ya maji kikombe 1..

Mahitaji

1.Katika bakuli la kuchanganyia weka unga vikombe viwili,sukari kijiko 1 kidogo,chumvi kiasi,siagi kijiko 1 kidogo,baking powder ½ kijiko kidogo,maziwa ya unga vijiko viwili vya kula(unaweza ukaweka maziwa ya unga ama usiweke sio lazima)

2.Kisha tia maziwa ya maji,huku ukichanganya unga wako.Ukishachanganyika anza kuukanda unga wako.Kanda unga wako kwa dakika 2-3,(usiwe mlaini kama wa chapati)

3.Gawa donge lako mara 2 au 3 kisha viringa au usokote uwe mwembamba kiasi na ukate kiasi kwa kisu.N uvitie visheti vyako kwenye chombo na vitakua tayari kuchoma.

4.Teleka mafuta yasipate moto sana,weka visheti vyako na uwe unakoroga kila mara.Ukiona visheti vyako vinakwenda chini sana vikoroge mara kwa mara ili vipate rangi sawa sawa kote.

5.Vikiwa tayari viweke kwenye chombo tissue au kitambaa ili zijichuje mafuta.

Kwa ajili ya shira

 1.Kwenye sufuria nyingine weka kikombe kimoja cha maji,kikombe kimoja cha sukari,kijiko kimoja kidogo cha iriki.(Iriki unaweza kukaitumia unapo kanda unga au unaweza kuiweka kwenye shira)Pia unaweza kutimia arki ya vanilla.

2.Pika shira yako mpaka igande/inyate ukiwa unaigusa kwa vidole.Ikiwa tayari weka visheti vyako kwenye shira na ukoroge au unaweza kuweka visheti kwenye bakuli na ukamwagia shira.

3.Zima moto na ukoroge kidogo kidogo na shira ikikauka visheti viko tayari kwa kula.
